The Vocational Education Accreditation Project, coordinated by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, is a sustainable cooperation model aimed at strengthening the internationalization of vocational and technical education, improving the professional skills of students and teachers, and strengthening the link between education and the business world. Within the scope of the project, the planning, coordination, and implementation of mobility activities are carried out by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education; vocational and technical education institutions included in the consortium participate in international activities in line with this planning. Within the consortium, vocational and technical education institutions in Istanbul collaborate with educational institutions and sector representatives in Europe; participants gain international experience, observe best practices on-site, and have the opportunity to transfer the experiences they acquire to their own institutions. The long-term goal of the consortium is to contribute to the development of an innovative and sustainable structure in vocational education that can adapt to changing technology, production, and service processes; to ensure that students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to compete on a global scale; and to permanently strengthen the international cooperation capacity of our educational institutions. In this regard, consortium activities are carried out in a wide range of vocational fields covering different sectors. Learning mobilities are carried out in production and technology-oriented fields such as industrial automation, machine and design technology, metal technologies, furniture and interior design, plumbing technologies, and information technologies, as well as in creative production areas such as textile technologies, fashion design, jewelry technology, and traditional handicrafts. In the service sector, activities aimed at providing professional experience are carried out in food and beverage services, accommodation and travel services, beauty services, marketing and retail, and accounting and finance. In addition, international learning opportunities are created for students in the field of child development and education.
Mobility activities carried out within the scope of the project include long-term learning mobilities, short-term student internship mobilities, student group mobilities, teacher on-the-job learning activities, and teacher assignments. Through these activities, students and teachers gain practical learning experience in educational institutions and businesses in different countries, and have the opportunity to examine different education systems and sector practices on-site.
The consortium activities also aim to strengthen the relationship between education, production, and employment through internship and learning activities carried out in strategic sectors such as the defense industry, aviation, and maritime services. Students have the opportunity to improve their professional competencies by gaining practical experience in international businesses. The project also aims to increase access to international learning opportunities for vocational high school students, particularly those studying in disadvantaged areas of Istanbul. Through student group mobilities, students both improve their professional skills and gain experience in intercultural communication and cooperation.
Consortium activities are not only for students but also include mobilities supporting the professional development of teachers. Through teacher assignments and on-the-job learning activities, teachers examine teaching methods and classroom practices used in different countries, developing innovative learning scenarios that can be implemented in their own institutions and transferring best practices to educational environments.
The project also supports environmental awareness studies in line with the European Union's green transition policies and sustainable development goals. In this context, thematic vocational high schools with renewable energy technologies are included in the consortium, and the goal is to strengthen the vocational education capacity in the field of green transition by ensuring that these schools take an active role in the projects. Within the scope of consortium activities, sustainability and environmental awareness trainings are organized for students and teachers, and participants are informed about the green agenda, sustainable living, and environmental responsibility before each mobility.
